Binh Tran is the co-founder and General Partner of AVV. Before AVV, he co-founded 500 Startups Vietnam in 2016, completing 76 deals and kick-starting the country’s VC ecosystem. Earlier, he co-founded and served as CTO of San Francisco based Klout, the Kleiner backed social-analytics pioneer acquired for over US$200 million in 2014. An operator-turned-investor who has shipped more than 20 software products and raised capital in both Silicon Valley and Asia, Binh now lives in Ho Chi Minh City with his wife and two children, advising founders on cross-border growth, AI-driven execution, and capital strategy.

Eddie Thai is a co-founder and General Partner of AVV. Eddie has 15 years of experience in tech, media, & telecommunications, including 7 years in VC. Previously he co-founded 500 Startups Vietnam, where he completed 30+ seed investments including ApplyBoard (edtech; unicorn), Trusting Social (fintech; Sequoia), Axie Infinity (NFT gaming; a16z), and Base (enterprise SaaS; acquired). Eddie received his AB in Government and Economics from Harvard and MBA from Yale.

Hau Ly is a Partner at AVV with 6+ years of experience in startup investment & support. Previously with 500 Startups Vietnam, Hau managed three accelerator programs and was the junior lead on deals including Base (enterprise SaaS; acquired), Axie Infinity (NFT gaming; a16z), and Pique (e-commerce enabler; acquired). At AVV, Hau focuses on portfolio management and was the Director for the SHINE woman founder initiatives.

Adrian is a Partner at AVV with 8+ years of market expansion and operations experience in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Before joining AVV, he co-founded Compliy, a Regtech100, compliance automation SaaS platform for financial institutions in APAC. Earlier, Adrian was an International Launcher for Uber in the Vietnam and Bali markets, and worked with Rocket Internet’s Zalora and Easy Taxi. Adrian is fluent in Vietnamese.

Mimi is a Senior Associate People & Operations at AVV where she is in charge of recruitment as well as coordinating various programs such as SHINE (a women-focused incubator). Previously, she operated three batches of the Saola accelerator at 500 Startups Vietnam. Mimi has broad operational experience in Topica Edtech Group and Misfit (acquired by Fossil Group).

Ngoc is a Finance Associate at AVV, where she supports the firm’s financial operations. She has 5+ years of experience in investment (fund) finance and accounting, with experience spanning fund operations, reporting, and portfolio analysis. Prior to joining AVV, she worked as an Investment Accountant at AlpInvest Partners (Amsterdam, the Netherlands), part of The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG), where she focused on fund accounting and financial reporting for global private equity investments, and support several deal closing in Primary, Secondary (Fund of Funds) and Co-investments (Direct investment)

Michael has been based in Vietnam since 2010 and has over a decade of experience in journalism and media in the country, including as former Editor-in-Chief of Saigoneer, a Fund 1 portfolio company. He also created and writes the well-regarded Vietnam Weekly newsletter, covering the economy, urban development, and much more.

Natalie is Legal Counsel at AVV, where she handles deal execution and legal matters. With over 10 years of legal experience, she previously worked at East Ventures (Growth Fund) and Indomobil Group, one of Indonesia’s leading conglomerates. She began her career at HHR Lawyers Indonesia and is a licensed advocate.
